COMMERCIAL RECYCLING SCHEDULE CHANGE

Please be advised that, beginning with the week of November 3, 2008 and continuing through the end of April 2009, commercial solid waste will be collected on Monday and Friday of each week.  The Wednesday collection service will be eliminated during this period.

Beginning May 4, 2009, the three day per week service will resume.  We will monitor the effects of  this change throughout the off-season and make any necessary adjustments.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (252) 255-1234.

NOTICE

The Town Council of the Town of Duck will conduct a Public Hearing on December 3, 2008 to receive comments on the following requests:

SE-08-006       A special exception permit application submitted by Ralph Calfee, P.E. on behalf of Joseph Speight, III, property owner of 1564 and 1566 Duck Road, Lot #19A, Station Bay Cove Subdivision, and Marina Area Lot, Station Bay Cove Subdivision, Dare County PIN’s 995113241959 and 995109250189, respectively.  The applicant requests a special exception for parking pursuant to Town Code Section 156.096 as well as a Major Waiver from the Town of Duck Commercial Design Guidelines pursuant to Town Code Section 156.118.  The property is the site of the former Duck News Café restaurant and existing Station Bay Marina.  The applicant wishes to reduce the minimum dimensional requirements for parking spaces and drive aisles to support zoning approval for the expansion of the existing restaurant.  The applicant is also requesting an exception to the required parking and drive aisle surface.

CUP 08-003    A conditional use permit, submitted by Whitt G. Sessoms, III, on behalf of the Cape Oil Corporation, property owner of 1209 Duck Road, Dare County PIN 985912850058.  The applicant is requesting a permit for a Formula Business, as defined in Town Code Section 156.061, at the location of the former Burger King restaurant and the existing Crown gasoline station.
